Anyone ever been to the Memphis in May bbq competition? Thinking about going up there this Saturday. Is there much for kids to do and see during the day? We probably won’t stay all night for the concert. Mainly want to walk around and check out the set ups and get some good bbq.

Make sure you know someone with a tent in the festival and have an invite to come inside, otherwise, you won’t enjoy it. You will be an outsider looking in.

It's a bigger Hogs for the Cause. Definitely need to know someone to have the real fun.

As others mentioned, you need to know someone (or be an attractive female). You will have a truly, truly miserable time if you do not (everything is private, and you need a wristband to get in - handful of "public" tents, but they are pretty miserable - setting up a tent is an absolute fortune).

I’ve only been once but this was my experience as well. And didn’t seem really kid friendly. Three layer tents w shot girls slinging drinks. Ton of fun. Reminded me of tailgating at Dega.
