Safe, food, etc.

All depends on what else you have planned, want to do, flying into, how long you're going, etc.

Anywhere near the theme parks. Shop at Publix and get all the chicken tenders and Zephyrhills water.
All jokes aside, they really do have a good selection of food at fair prices. The deli is great. The seafood options are also pretty large. You can probably get food and beer at Costco, although Publix usually has a great sale on most craft beer (if you're into that).
Total Wine for alcohol if you want something you can't find at most grocery stores.

I grew up in Central Florida. Lived in Orlando for 12 years. Here are some thoughts.
The game would be downtown at Camping World Stadium. Formerly the Citrus Bowl. I've been to a few games there over the years. The local area is a little run down, but there will be plenty of police around. There is plenty of safe and secure off-site parking within a 4 block radius. And there are bus shuttles that pick people up from the parking lots and transport them to and from the stadium.

Depends on where you want to be. Ton of options. Want to be near the attractions? Downtown?
For downtown, I used to work around Lake Eola. Kind of a trendy area and walkable to some shops and restaurants potentially. Thorton Park. Do some searches around there. College Park is just a few minutes from downtown Orlando, but had some friends with an older home there. Kind of an older, but very nice redeveloped area of the City. Winter Park is the "artsy/fartsy" part of the town. High end stores and restaurants. Home to Rollins College. Very nice.
My son and girlfriend love to fly down there several times a year. Not a home, but he's suggesting you look at the: Double Tree By Universal Studios. Says it's pretty nice for how cheap it is comparatively. We lived about 5 miles from there and it's generally a nice and convenient area.
Food
Gazillion restaurants in Orlando. Really depends on what you like and where you're staying. Afraid I'm little dated on these. Just do a Yelp search!
I have a friend that swears by Norigami Sushi in Winter Garden. Make a reservation.

Want an amazing, once in a lifetime thing to do? Go tubing down Rock Springs! Can fill up, so get there early if you can.
