Just got back from a week in London, and can’t recommend this place enough. I had previously eaten at the Shoreditch location and loved it and this time tried out the Covent Garden spot—it was just as good. Also ate at St John Smithfield, great experience and food. Had Sunday roast at The Ship Tavern in Holborn, which was really good. Wife had an excellent Beef Wellington.
We stayed in Holborn, and there were literally 20 restaurants and 5 pubs within a minute’s walk from our hotel, so we just looked at Google maps and chose 4.5 or higher rated places to eat at and ate a variety of stuff from Middle Eastern to Cantonese to Filipino. Didn’t have a bad meal anywhere.

This is insane. I only paid 1300$ for two tickets to fly there.

Are you referring to the prices at the restaurants recommended? If so, I agree, spent about the same to fly there and 1700 for 5 nights to stay, I wasnt spending more than 200 dollars on a meal. There are plenty of good restaurants in that range, just rely on yelp and Google. We had 2 fish and chips meals and the rest were a mixture of food style, pretty much liked them all.
The Queens Arms for Fish and Chips
Fellini for Italian dinner
Wahaca for tacos
Din Tai Fung (always a go to in cities that have one)

If you head down river to Greenwich snag some eels at Goddards.
I love Greenwich and Goddard’s is authentic Greenwich.
