Agree with OP. LV sucks. Trashy people everywhere. I even hate the airport. It is best as a pass through to see the natural splendors of the West. But I don't gamble and for a long time now the only titties in my face belong to my wife, so I get that others may have a different view. I might be tempted someday to see a band at that sphere thing. That looks cool.

I don't think anywhere sucks and can find redeeming qualities of about anywhere. I went with my wife and two teenage sons last year. We enjoyed the sheer weirdness of it all and the spectacle. We fed off the energy and had a good time. The shopping was pretty amazing in our hotel (Encore) and other places we went (mall across the street). We also had a great day trip out to Red Rock and watched the various climbers as well as went on hikes and drove the loop.
That being said: I have zero desire to go back with or without family. If we DID go back, we would stay at the MGM Grand. We absolutely HATED having to walk through smoky casino everytime we left our room to walk anywhere (and often we'd be walking through the casino(s) for extended periods.
