This is my entire point. How many places can you travel right now and have the same trip as a year ago? Is anyone truly that ignorant to think their trip would be normal? The question really is not can I go and have a normal vacation? The question is can I have a good time given Covid restrictions everywhere?
The reality is travel will continue to be affected for at least another 6 months. I refuse to sit in my house and do nothing. You either move on with life and make the best of it, or sit in your home. Unless you are going to just go to a lake house and go fishing for the next year, any vacation will be affected.
People can down vote me away, but I’m just not one to recommend staying at home.

Other than hiking, camping, outdoor type trips I don't know of many.

I'll only recommend it if reasonable expectations are not attainable.
The crowd that says "we will take our chances and hope we get lucky" probably don't need to be going.
