Fly to Honolulu and hop on cruise ship which cruises around the islands. I think you get stops in 4 islands. On Kauai, do the helicopter tour. It is stunning.

Doing this is much less expensive than staying on one island, someone else transports you around, fine dining every meal if you choose.

That's NCL, never been on them, but for that particular cruise, would probably be okay.

Bumping this.

Wife now wants to consider perhaps somewhere in the Caribbean in September 2023 for 5-7 days. Suggestions?

Was thinking maybe Aruba, maybe the Hilton.

Aruba is amazing. I personally see zero need to stay at a resort here. I’ve been several times and am here now. Love it.

The beaches are amazing, it’s safe, the roads are good, and there’s good dining to be had plenty.

I’m someone who loves a good all inclusive or a nice hotel, but it’s simply not necessary in Aruba like it is in one of the poorer island nations like Jamaica.

IMO, Aruba is a place to do an AirBnb, VRBO, or other rental - get a rental car and enjoy all the different beaches and activities the island has to offer. If you stay at a resort you are missing out on SO much IMO.

I also see so many people with their resort wristbands on at many of the local beaches - which is kind of a waste of money if you ask me when you’ve paid so much money to be at a resort or super nice hotel.

Just my two cents, but I’ve stayed and spent a lot of time in the Caribbean and am an airline crew member. Aruba is legit probably my favorite place on Earth and I don’t say that lightly.

We have been to Aruba one day on a cruise, wherever the cruise dock is, and walked around town. Was not anywhere near any beaches that I remember. Could see all the mega resorts way off in the distance as I recall.

Any other advice, let me know. Might zero in on Aruba.

Yes that is Oranjestad. Cruise tourist area. Not far from beaches at all though. Maybe 5 min by car.

You have any airbnb to recommend? Would love a place with a pool, private place, but walking or close access to beaches.

I have a friend in Aruba right now, and she says it’s absolutely stunning. My oldest son is on his honeymoon in St. Lucia and it also looks fantastic. Literally the only two islands down there I haven’t been to.

There are SO many you can’t go wrong. I’ve used the company Vacation Aruba many times. They have something for everyone. If you want beachfront go for it. Small condo in a shared building? They have that too.

Multiple companies like that on the island. I just returned yesterday and miss it badly lol
