Help finding Gatlinburg/blue ridge pkwy area civil war site

When I was a kid, we always used to visit this civil war site when we’d go to the smokys. We never stayed in one place for more than a day or two, we would stay in Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Gatlinburg, etc. So I don’t even know if this place was actually near Gatlinburg. From my research there’s nothing around there that I’m describing. I just remember there were some stone structures and old cannons. As a kid it seemed like a huge open area. But that may not be correct since it’s been 30+ years. I feel like it was a battlefield but I really don’t remember much more than vague details. Can anyone suggest anything that it may be and I’ll look it up to see. I’d like to take my boy this summer to some civil war era attractions. TIA

Was it a possible stop at Point Park in Chattanooga on the way? That's a huge Civil War area.

No but that looks like a great place to add to the list. We’ll have a day in chatanooga and did Rock City and Ruby Falls last year. Want to do something different this year. Thanks!
I found some places south of Chattanooga, Chickamauga which has the same look that I am remembering. But I really thought it was in the national park. But again, I was a kid so this very well may be it.

The Incline Railway runs to the top of the mountain and is only a few blocks from the fort and trails.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee, was the site of the Battle of Burg Hill in 1863, and reenactment groups now demonstrate the battle and life during the Civil War there every summer.
Are you sure it was a Civil War site & not the Revolutionary War? Any pictures or relatives that might help identify the location?
