Looking for a 5-8 day trip to the UK to see the wife's family. We have places to stay, might need help with a rental car company recommendation as well. It has been a few years since we have been there and just had some free time come up.

Date range would be Dec 12-23
Could Fly out of Chicago, St. Louis, or Indianapolis to Heathrow or Gatwick. Not opposed to layovers, but do not want to see the world.

If anyone has some time, I would appreciate your resources/help. TIA

Not worried about price I know it's expensive. Have seen on here before posters finding good deals or are familiar navigating. Just looking for best price as it's a last minute idea.

Google Flights would probably be your best bet at this point.

12th through the 19th
Chicago to Gatwick

LINK

Weirdly, it's about 40 bucks cheaper if you book each separately

Found the same thing as you

If you wanna come back on the 21st or 23rd it's only $691, same flights on norweigan. Only other thing I found was out of Saint Louis for $530 with a 10 hr and a 17 hr layover in Iceland. STL- Iceland

Indianapolis is >> $1k so that seems out. I'd probably go with what Doom found if you're trying to save on costs. A week over there is more than enough for me

Last time we went we did three weeks with a two year old and five year old. A week with the wife and I, if it works out, would be perfect. Get back for Christmas and enjoy the rest of the holiday time.

Thank you also for your help!
