My extended family is taking a trip this summer to Maui. After the initial search, Airbnbs didn’t offer the beach front we all wanted so I concentrated on hotels. I narrowed it down to the Andaz or the Fairmont in Wailea. I stayed at the Fairmont a decade ago. The Four Seasons next to Fairmont was much nicer, but the price is significantly more at first glance. The Ritz is a similar price to the Andaz or Fairmont, but it’s an older (renovated) property and in a more secluded area.

Thanks

The Hyatt is Kauai was awesome and I've heard good things about the Andaz so if I do Maui that's the pick.

imo, the Four Seasons of maui isnt their best example..actually was very disappointing.

i'll echo others on hyatt's andaz..is nice and you wont be disappointed.
(their andaz in tokyo is the single best hotel i've ever stayed in in my entire life)

however, the my top choice go to on maui...is another hyatt property.

the Hyatt Residence Club Maui (at Ka?anapali Beach)
well appointed 2BR wither perfect views. perfect location on a nice beach.. and excellent pool if you have kids.

Thanks everyone. This helps a lot.

We need 3 rooms. There is a 3 bed villa but we have 2 kids too many to book online. Hopefully we can talk to the property to allow the higher occupancy. Fingers crossed.
