I will give you a classic - House of Prime Rib. I know, the name sounds like a franchise restaurant and I haven't been in over 20 years, but the 2 times that I did go, it was amazing. They wheel prime rib around a cart and cut it table side. Their house salad is incredible. Most locals go there for their birthday. Reservations are hard to get, but it is an experience, especially if you like prime rib. My first time was as a 12 year old in 1972 and I brought my family back in 2002.

Friends who live just outside the bay area love these. Scomas and Betty Sues in S. F. The Spinaker in Sausalito across the bridge.

Also forgot, we love the Tadich Grill. Located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, Tadich Grill is the oldest, continuously run restaurant in California. Great vibe, good food and service. A typical downtown business man restaurant with classic waiters.
