I'm going to FT Smith, Ark for a few days at the end of May. I'm going to check out the historical sites in the area. I'm looking for recommendations on a place to stay. Thanks for the input.

There is a Courtyard and Doubletree just off of Garrison. Either of those two would put you within walking distance of plenty of food and bars. Near the Riverfront.
