From Lafayette:

Drive to Nola very early morning and catch direct Southwest flight
Or drive to Houston night before (free room near hobby) and catch early SW direct flight out of Hobby.

Same price. Nola flight a little longer. Not familiar with either airport.

Is hobby way easier and worth the extra drive? Is MSY slow? I’ve kind of heard so.

What about your return flight? Houston or Nola?

Unless you have something specific to do In Houston, I would pass on that. I would not want to drive back from Houston after a long flight.

MSY all day every day.....traffic out of NOLA to Laffy is way easier than Houston. Esp if you go 310 south to US 90 and take the southern route, avoiding Baton Rouge traffic.

MSY without a doubt given that they’re both non-stop flights in the same continent.
