I think Breckenridge will be crowded being so close to Denver. But it does have a great Christmas town.

Be forewarned that it is a very challenging mountain. Many blue runs would be considered blacks on other mountains.

I've always enjoyed the town and the village as well. Many of the Colorado towns blend together in my opinion. I find Taos to be relaxing and with a great food and art scene. Very interesting.

How does it compare to Jackson Hole in terms of difficulty?

Wut? shite no, man. The mountain isn't very big and he runs are narrow compared to Colorado resorts. Neat town for about 2 days. The difference in the haves and have nots is pretty startling. The ski area is about a half hour drive from town. Definitely worth a visit. If you have time you could roll Santa Fe into the trip since its only an hour away.

The runs are narrow and it's a steep mountain. The peak elevation is roughly 12,500 and it lists 110 trails with 24% beginner, 25% intermediate and 51% advanced/expert (which I think the Colorado mountains are similar).
