The Mrs. and I have a trip to Grand Turk in June. We arrive on the Saturday United flight from IAH at 2:20, and our inter island flight to Grand Turk is at 5:00. I keep reading about how long the entry lines are on Trip Advisor, with so many planes arriving about that time on Saturdays.

Should I shell out the $70 per person for Fast Track, or is it worth it?

We just got back 2 weeks ago, AA flight on a Tuesday landed at 2:30. Not a single other person in the line other than our flight, in and out in 10-20 minutes. Flew out on a Saturday which was longer and more crowded, but the hold up was checking in the AA line/kiosk, after that it was easy (although the airport is pretty rough and no AC). Wouldn't have been worth it either way for our trip, but would've definitely been moreso on the way back. If not, PLS does have a second story which was much more comfortable than the first and had a bar. Saturdays are by far the busiest from what I was reading and I was worried about the same. You can always check PLS arrivals and see how many flights arrive/depart at the same time as yours to help with your decision.

I just got back too. We flew in on a Monday. My wife and I were some of the first passengers off the pland so we didn't have any problems getting through. There was one family who did fast track but I didn't see on that day how it was worth it. We were at baggage claim at the same time as them as were most passengers on our plane. On the way back I may try it. There are several American flights along with Delta and Jet Blue that leave PLS at around 2 so it gets crowded. There is a fast track but also another service offered for expedited service but it may be only from American. If your flight leaves Turks early afternoon be ready for a wait.

Thanks to all!

We have 2.5 hours for before the inter island departure, and arrive at the busiest time. However on our return, we arrive at 10:30 on the flight from GT and depart at 3ish. So I’m not so worried about departure.

Our flight out was at 5 - we had to check out of the hotel, ate, return car etc and decided "oh let's just head to the airport" and regretted it due to the lines as 2-3p is peak time. The airside gate area is a size of a typical gate at US airport except serving 5 flights of all airlines. No AC, no seats. We went upstairs for a drink (again much better), then went back downstairs and the place was empty. $150 still seems steep to me to save 25 min in line that you'll spend at the gate anyway, but that time will be as busy as the airport gets. Failed to mention - PLS has one gate - they say "gate 1-5" but you all leave out of the same door and walk to your plane, which contributes to the crowds.
