Family oriented Miami visit for one day

The family is traveling to the Keys in October and we are planning on spending the first day of our trip in the Miami/South Beach area before heading there. We are already planning to see the Delano Hotel and the Versace Mansion. We were considering a trip to South Pointe Park Pier, assuming that it is ADA compliant (my 12 year old is in a wheelchair). Anything else we should consider doing? If it matters, our other child is 8.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Go eat in the Cuban neighborhood

Definitely hit up the south beach area, you can grab drinks and meals along that area.
They offer boat cruises around Biscayne Bay - they will point out all the famous homes around that area.

On the way to South Pointe Park Pier, stop at Joe's Take-Away at Joe's Stone Crab. Their fried chicken is legit if you want to pack a picnic and not spend a ton of money. Joe's is 2 blocks from the park and the pier is at the end of the park. You can always stop at a Publix for a sub (chicken strip sub FTW) to eat at the park, too.

Drive (or walk) around the wynwood art district.
My kids loved seeing all of the cool murals.

Agree with wynwood, it’s my favorite neighborhood in Miami. Also Lincoln road mall is a good spot to spend a few hours.

Wynwood is cool. My little girl liked the murals. We did that and went to Little Havana. They have some buses that you can get on and off on that go different routes to all the different areas.
