Anyone stay at Excellence Playa Mujeres? Is the upgrade to the club worth it? Pro and cons for an anniversary trip?

Thanks.

Went there for my honeymoon and opted for the Excellence Club. Really depends on y'all's personalities and what kind of experience you're looking for.

For us it was definitely worth it for several reasons:

1: The excellence club offers you access to a private beach area that is less crowded, less rowdy, and has waiters/beach attendants just for that area. This was probably the biggest plus for us. We were able to go down to the beach in the morning and tell the beach guy what kind of seats we wanted, where we wanted them, and if we wanted shade and he would have it all set up for us when we came back after breakfast. They would also check on us throughout the day and adjust the shade with the movement of the sun. Also was nice having a waiter (shout out to Luis) who never let our cups go empty and remembered what drinks we liked after just a few hours. Also was able to order snack foods from my lounge chair on the beach and they delivered it to us.

2: The hydrotherapy spa thing you get complementary with the excellence club is actually pretty nice and relaxing. My wife and I both enjoyed it.

3: The excellence club lounge was a nice feature to have. It was a super quiet lounge with chairs, a bar, tvs and stuff. It was a good place to wind down after being at the beach and pool all day. Every night they had good appetizer type food and drinks, and I was able to catch up on the news and us the good wifi.

4: Premium liquor in the room was pretty cool. Also, not excellence club related, but the two 24/7 porn channels were quite humorous. Was flipping through the channels on the first night and then BOOM: Big tit blonde getting plowed on our screen.

Really don't think you can go wrong there. The resort is top-notch and I doubt you'll be disappointed either way.

Went a few months ago. Great resort. We did the excellence club. You may not use all of the perks, but you'll be pissed if you get there and you wanted to enjoy something the club had to offer.

it's a great place if you are looking for somewhere where you never have to leave the resort. We went a few years ago and it was a party atmosphere nonstop, a lot of immature grownups getting wasted every day, but that could have been just the time we were there and also an indicator that we are getting too old and too boring !!

I guess it depends on when you go, because I didn't get the "immature" and "party" vibes. It is a big resort, so I could've just missed out on that aspect hanging out at a different portion of the resort.

I thought it was perfect for adults and couldn't have really asked for a better AI situation.

Thanks for the replies. What room did you guys get? I was thinking a swim up, but the Mrs read that they lacked privacy.

We stayed in an oceanfront room and enjoyed it. Nice balcony with loungers looking out to the ocean. Swim up was our second choice.
