I searched and I don't think one of these exists on this website yet... anyone ever been or have any opinions of places to eat/drink near the Tigers stadium?

I’ve been to Sweetwater. Nothing special and pretty down to earth. Are you going to a game? There’s a lot of bars/restaurants around the stadiums (all of the stadiums are together). Greek Town is another nightlife/party area. I had a lot of fun when I went to Detroit. Downtown is fairly small and walkable. I never felt unsafe.
Sorry I’m not much help. We kind of just ate where we ended up at the moment. I mostly came here to say if you’re in that area you have to go to the Henry Ford Museum. It’s better than any museum in D.C.

London Chop House is a fun classic steakhouse downtown.

Cafe D’Mongos is an awesome bar. Two James Spirits is also cool.
Food:
Slows BBQ (completely illogical, I know, but it’s legit)
Ottova Via
Takoi
Grey Ghost
Seldon standard and Wright and Co are okay, but they’re trendy so you’re over-paying, IMO
