In late February I will be coming up on a Friday from covington and spending the night in chattanooga on my way to Gatlinburg. Where should I stay based on where I'm leaving from and what should I do? I would like to do the incline railway, lookout mountain, ruby falls and then drive 3 hours to Gatlinburg. Does that seem doable and jf so what order should they be done based on location and where should I stay. Tha k you. We did ruby falls and lookout mountain 2 years ago but kids don't remember

Out of those 3 I would put ruby falls 1st then rock city/lookout mountain and incline last. Could put rock city first if they had the Christmas lights up. That's about all I can help with, we just stayed at a Airbnb for a night to do those then went to Nashville.

Edit: Missed your last sentence when I wrote this

With kids? Chattanooga Choo Choo in a railcar for sure.

Not sure if you can get all those done in 3 hrs. Incline and Lookout Mnt easily as they are the same place. Maybe do a three hour tour of the Aquarium?

It's not 3 hours. It's spend maybe 8 hours and then drive 3 hours to Gatlinburg. Say I do all 3 in which order based on the location and where should I stay. I don't want to stay somewhere in chattanooga and then drive back from where I was already drove coming in

Misread it. If you have 8hrs, you can do all three easily and probably spend the afternoon at the Aquarium.

You can stay just about anywhere downtown and be on the interstate in 5-10 minutes. The Incline and Rock City are near a part of town known as Saint Elmo. If you need to go to the hotel before hitting the road, you might want to get a room in that area.

If you decide to stay at the Choo Choo, it's pretty close to the interstate too. If it's a pretty day, definitely do Rock City. If it's raining, it won't matter much at Ruby Falls.
