Cheap Long Term Rental Bahamas?

My daughter and son-in-law are looking. He’s a skilled carpenter and could do hurricane repair in exchange for a place. They could also afford normal rent, but not vacation house rent. Preferably a smaller island, not Nassau. Maybe 6 months, maybe 2 years. Taking it as it comes... Ideas?

The outer islands tend to get more expensive, not less.
