The shortest flights I’ve seen are about 9 hours but that’s with a 1-1 1/2 hour layover in Miami.

Thanks everyone for the help. I've included an update with our decision in the OP. Still open to any recs on things to do and places to see.

Sugar Beach is incredible. My wife and I stayed in a villa there for our honeymoon in 2012. It was called Jalousie Plantation then. We went in May so it wasnt very busy. We’re looking to go back there in the next year or two.
We hiked Gros Piton one day which was awesome. Also went to the sulfur springs and the gardens another day, which were also fun. We took a water taxi around a couple days, one day to go into Soufriere and another to go snorkeling.
Our last night there we went to the rum bar at the resort, and it was awesome. We wished we had found it earlier in the trip.
Enjoy! That will be an awesome trip.
