Several awesome places around Lake Ouachita - can even kayak/canoe out and set up camp on one of the 200+ islands.

We did a Ouachita trip a few years back with some friends and camped out on one of the islands, it was a great trip.

There are also a few spots around Lake Greeson like Daisy State Park that are nice.

Buffalo Point National CG - they have some tent only spots. It's right on the river across from some huge bluffs.

It's not exactly primitive, but it is a beautiful area.

Shady Lake in Ouchita NF is a good spot.
All the state parks in the center -west part of the state are amazing places.

Nebo, Petit Jean, Magazine, Wilhemena, Daisy, Lake Degray

DeGray is one of my favorites, but we've always stayed at the lodge.

We have done it before and love the route.

2 or 3 days is about it for me these days sleeping on the ground. I like camping out at the Hyatt now.

This was our spring break trip for years growing up. I love that lodge.

Many friends around Lafayette hit the loop up. Never been but I hear it is exceptional.

If you mountain bike then Nebo is the spot to go to . Mountain bike trail all around the perimeter of the mountain.

Bruh, that sent me down a two hour rabbit hole.

It's been added to my Fall wish list.

Nebo Trails are great for sure. Devil's Den are also fantastic. All the "Monument Trails" (collab between State Parks and, basically, the Waltons to build spectacularly impressive trails in iconic Arkansas State Parks) are worth visiting. The builds are pretty wild, and they really opened up the pocketbooks to let the trail building companies go wild (mainly Rock Solid). Their build style, honestly, isn't my favorite to ride... but they're undeniably visually impressive.

There are 200 plus islands in Lake Ouchita? And are all available to camp? I thought that was a watershed? I’ve stayed at Mountain Home but never heard that.
