Thinking about going there for Thanksgiving to see the lights.
How is the lodging in that area?
Is there enough to do to keep us happy for three days?

IMO not 3 days worth of activities in that area.

Do you like camping or anything? We used to live near there and had annual passes, and my old company had conferences there every quarter.
If you play golf, like to hike, and whatnot... sure. There's enough at Callaway to fill a half day, but better in the spring than Nov/Dec. Camping is better in the fall.
FDR State Park is the largest park in the state and has more hiking trails than you can handle. There's a wild animal safari nearby. You can visit Warm Springs and see the Little White House. You could go to Great Wolf lodge. You could go to Columbus and visit the infantry museum, civil war museum, etc.
But honestly, when we used to come back down for the lights, we'd just leave afterwards.

I agree on the half day at Callaway, we stayed in Lagrange and drove down and it was around October so they were having the Pumpkin Event which we did not do. We did do the Wild Animal Safari it was actually larger and more interesting than I imagined. if you use your vehicle be warned you could lose a rearview mirror. the animals know everyone has food for them and they want it.
If you like craft beer Wild Leap Brewery in Lagrange was good.
