What about Atlanta? No shortage of bars and restaurants. Shoot the Hooch, College football hall of fame worth checking out, The Cheetah?

Out of all the Midwest cities, Nashville then Louisville are the top two.

I couldn't recommend that.

A guys weekend in Atlanta may be fun, but I wouldn't waste my bachelor party on Atlanta.

Not walking friendly, places worth checking out are way too far from each other, traffic blows, food/drink is expensive.

I love Savannah and Nashville but I would say Savannah. There is no open container law in the historic district which makes bar hopping much easier, not to mention it's a "walking city." Savannah also has a beach which gives you something to do during the day as well as possibly doing some off-shore fishing. I know that a lot of places in SC have outlawed drinking on the beach but we don't have that problem in Georgia. It's also a hell of a lot closer.

Nashville is most decidedly not a Midwestern city. It's south of Kentucky and east of Louisiana

Savannah is awesome, but it is hotter than balls that time of year.

I would say it depends on the age and relationship status of most of the party. Nashville for sure if everyone is 25 - 29. It's a fun city with a lot of young people and no shortage of stuff to do.

Louisville is a bit grittier and more neighborhood-centric (no centralized entertainment district like Broadway), but the neighborhoods themselves are really interesting, especially Bardstown Road/Highlands. It has better restaurants than Nashville if that's your thing. The Bourbon Trail is great but that's not the easiest logistical issue to solve. Louisville is basically what Nashville would be if the state capital weren't in Nashville.

Personally, I feel like the open container law (or lack thereof) is more of a novelty than anything. It's great and convenient, but I don't think it should be a deciding factor. Good point about Tybee and fishing, but I'm assuming that since the OP and some of his friends live in Charleston, that they already have access to that type of stuff.

Technically yes. But everyone in Missouri Illinois, indiana, and Tennessee all kinda of travel within a large (5 hour)bubble. Which is like KC - STL - chicago - indy- memphis - nashville - Louisville.

For a small group it's more of a novelty thing. Trying to keep a bunch of drunk guys together, it's a necessity.

I live in Savannah and still went off shore on my bachelor party in Tampa.
