I have said this a few times on here....

But I don't get the hype for Nashville. I understand that regionally it attracts a lot of young people and has a great appeal to people in the south.

But the place gets way too much love on this board.

The food sucks/Broadway is gimmicky as hell-with creepy wannabe country stars(and I love country music). The area landscape is decent at best. Small hills with a river.

Austin beats Nashville in every category but maybe country music.

If you are considering Nashville, then you should go to Austin

You're trying to make Nashville as if it's San Francisco or Seattle.

Can you even buy wine and high gravity beer in grocery stores throughout Tennessee?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't all liquor stores closed on Sunday in Tennessee?

Isn't Tennessee in the top 5 of highest taxes per alcoholic drink?

So, again...convince me otherwise that Nashville isn't the land of conservatives, church goers, and sweet tea.

We just passed wine in grocery stores in some places. It's not state level, it's done on a city/county basis. Lol

CAD definitely trying too hard for Nashville in being a land of debauchery. It's a great place and I would rather live there than NOLA, but it just isn't in the same category for some activities.

Know how I know you haven't been to Nashville in awhile?

I have no idea what you're implying here. trader Joe's is loaded with $3 bottles of wine and I just had $3.50 margaritas last night at happy hour so I'm guessing this tax you speak of isn't exactly a burden.

It hasn't even been a whole two months since the wine bill passed.

I disagree. Austin is awesome. It's getting overcrowded and ridiculously priced, but Austin has always had a certain, unique vibe to it. Austin is definitely what the state of Texas needs.

agreed. Austin is the perfect counter from the Houston and Dallas corporate attitude.

Meh, wasn't impressed... Not a fan of Texas in general. My favorite part has been basically empty of People, big bend....
