Tentrr
As either host or guest? I first saw these at Clarkco State Park in MS. Seemed like a gimmick when I first saw them and the website. I mean it is gimmicky, but I'm warming up to the idea of putting one on my property.
They have pretty strict criteria for accepting hosts/sites.
It's a tad pricey to host ($6500 and 20% of booking revenue) for basically a tent and a picnic table. But they come on site and build the platform and set everything up. And their booking system and advertising seem pretty solid.
I just have no clue whether people are really booking these. There are a few relatively near us, but I can't just browse calendars to see if they book much. One on the Saluda River is $125/nt. Seems insane. We back up to a farm that does a lot of weddings. I figure folks who have a wedding on a "sustainable" farm will have guests who'll want to "glamp" on a forest creek next door.
Thoughts: A/C would be nice for sleeping (not a must, as we're in Upstate SC in woods), so I can rent guests a portable unit. Shower/bathroom will be on property too.

I’ve had a few friends do ones in Fountainbleau state park and another state park around NOLA. They said it was enjoyable. They would not have camped otherwise but did so because of the ease of it already being set up. I looked into booking one a couple times but hasn’t worked out for various reasons. Seem relatively booked up.
All I got.
All I got.

Thx for the input. Yeah I assume state parks get them cheap or free as a marketing thing for Tentrr. I'll ask my BIL who works for SC State Park system.
I just don't think anyone says, "Hey I want to camp, so let's check on Tentrr." I'm into all this stuff and had never heard of them until a couple months ago. When you already know you want to stay in a state park then you see they offer Tentrr when you go to the park booking site.
These sites/apps like HipCamp and The Dyrt just don't seem to have the booking power to make it viable, yet. I assume Airbnb will eventually buy them all and ruin them.

Sounds similar to the whole idea of swimply. I was pumped about this app until I saw the prices..... Some pools in Lafayette are over $200 for 3 hours.
