Yeah, I only saw one or two people in Highlands not wearing a mask, and one of those was just in the parking lot of the grocery store there. She put hers on when she got to the door of the store. Highlands had a local ordinance requiring them on public sidewalks, in addition to the state mandate requiring them in stores. It was weird to see widespread compliance there as I haven't seen it anywhere else I've been.

Today.. Hooker Falls. Dupont Forest was PACKED. Couldn't find a parking spot. Went to Sliding Rock. Found a parking spot easily. But it was PACKED as well. Surprised given it was Tuesday.

Mask order in effect. I'd say 95% compliance everywhere you go. Most restaurants seem open. Some closed.

Great day on the Tuckasegee River near Dillsboro. Rented a two-person rubber kayak. Perfect weather. Water level is nice. Surprised at the number of people going. You have to wear a mask around the waiting area. And on the shuttle bus. Feel like the outfitter took as many precautions as possible. Highly recommend.

Rufus Morgan Falls

Beautiful "hidden gem" just outside of Franklin. Moderate hike.

I'll be at Harrah's Cherokee next week for our end of year corporate meetings.

Strange to see people in Highlands wearing masks. It's a North Carolina requirement. But in the more rurl areas obviously some people are not going to comply.

Highlands is full of transplants, it’s not full of your typically rural people.
