Buying a home in Monopoli on the coast (near Bari/Ostuni) next month. Headed there for two weeks. What's the best way to get from Rome to Bari? Train?
Also, any recommendations on things to do/places to eat in Monopolo/Bari/Ostuni?

I’m (said only semi ironically) a Northern Italy expert unfortunately (lived in Vicenza for several years)…
That said, in the other Italy thread just posted I mentioned Polignano a Mare which is right next to Monopoli…
Puglia is lovely, great beaches and seafood and Polignano is one of Europe’s most charming seaside/beach towns IMHO…
The only thing is (and out come my Northern Italian biases) is you get the real Italian efficiency and punctuality experience in Puglia, so expect for example that public transport schedules are merely a suggestion at best and apply this logic to just about everything…
That said:
Yes, make sure you opt for one of the hi-speed “freccia” (lit. “Arrow”) lines between Rome and Bari, unlike the regional Trenitalia trains traversing Puglia, these lines are rather reliable

Congrats! In a different life, I think it would be cool to own a house/apartment in Italy. I do really like the country. So what made you choose monpoli and why Italy?

Thanks...it's surprisingly easy to get a mortgage as a foreigner over there. My good buddy has an incredible eye for foreign real estate. He got me to buy a home in mexico and found this incredible piece of property in Monopoli. Can't say no

Very cool... Are you renting them out, or just hanging on to them as a place to visit and live?
