Haven't been to either. Just looking at them online, they look like the kinda places I try to avoid.

It's not somewhere I'd normally put on my list but Vol. 39 is right by The LaSalle and is probably the coziest place you'll find in walking distance. Just in case you need a break glass in case of emergency recommendation. Sometimes on date night it's nice to not have to spend a lot of time getting back to your place.

Any POV on those 2?

Just my opinion, but skip both. Machine is gimmicky as hell (they used to be in Wicker) and with Sanctuary, if you're doing Indian-Mexican fusion, Mirra is what you want. I think Sanctuary is showing temporarily closed, anyway. Not sure what's happening there.

You might also consider The Green Mill. It's an adventure from where you're staying but it's legendary and adds music to the mix.

If you stay at The LaSalle, right across the street is the Duncan’s Toy Chest location from Home Alone 2.

Ended up changing some things around, here is what we did.

Friday morning arrived
Friday daytime - went to the top of Sears tower (now called Willis Tower)
Friday late lunch - Sushi San
Friday social - got massages
Friday dinner - Adalina
Friday bar - Chicago magic lounge

Saturday brunch - Beatrix
Saturday social - Griffin Museum
Saturday dinner - Niso’s Prime
Saturday evening - phantom of the opera at Cadillac Palace Theatre
Saturday bar - crying tiger then went next door Gus’s sip and dip

Sunday brunch - Beatnik on the river
Sunday afternoon flew back home

Thanks for all the suggestions, we had an amazing time despite it snowing Saturday afternoon through the time we left on Sunday, it was cold as frick. Everybody we met in Chicago was incredibly friendly and we are planning to go back in the summertime… apparently it is an entirely different city with new things to do, how it looks, how it feels, etc.

Got 3 different “geaux tigers” while I was there, I wore an LSU hoodie during the days on Friday and Saturday. The pilot on our flight back to Houston is an LSU Tiger, got one from him as we were walking off the plane.

Nice little nerdy way to finish off a great anniversary weekend.
