I’ll be spending a few days in Albany the first week of November and will have a rental car. Looking for suggestions on sights to see, things to do, and places to eat and drink.

Are you restricted just to the Albany area, or do you have the time to venture further out? Albany proper is pretty meh, but it is a good center point for many cool things such as Cooperstown, Saratoga, Lake George, the Catskills, and the Hudson Valley.

I’ll be able to go an hour or so away. Also, i’ll be driving in from Boston, so any stops along the way?

Trillium in Boston

Aeronaut and Lamplighter in Cambridge

Tree House in Charlton. It's about 20 mins away from Worcester, which is a cool city with some beautiful architecture and probably worth a stop for lunch.

New Park in Hartford, CT

Hudson Valley in Beacon, NY. Great historical town with plenty to do. And once you leave there you can find plenty of hikes/nature along the river on the way to Albany.

Storm King Art Center is just outside Beacon and an amazing sculpture park even if you don't like art. The setting is spectacular.
