With my good friend in northern France to search for spot his dad was wounded 75 yrs ago. Have a few letters he wrote from hospital, and couple other clues. Our guide is very helpful. I Strasbourg near Vogues mountains. Wish us luck, this is very important to my good buddy.

Very cool.

My grandpa got shot 3 separate times moving through France towards Germany with the 29th infantry.

Wasn't super easy figuring out what rough dates those occurred. Would be interesting to see the area some day.

Please share what you discover. Makes you wonder if our descendants are going to make trips to Afghanistan and Iraq......

August 29th will be the 75th anniversary of my Great Uncle dying in France.

They have a memorial for him in Mitry Mory (just outside of Paris).

We searched with a guide. Talked to a couple of oldtimers. Think we pinpointed the close general area. Found a beautiful hill with cherry trees and natural flowers. My friend had a waterproff box with a pic of his dad and couple of momentos from great grandkids. He buried it under a cherry tree. Very emotional moment.
