I am checking to see what channels that we watch are not on YouTube TV. One of them is the Cooking channel which my wife watches a lot. I will A&E to that list. I will be pairing this with Tablo.
I paired YTTV with Philo to cover all those issues as both services were easy to split/share with other family members in different locations.
if you have no need to share the accounts, checkout FRNDLY TV to pair with YTTV. I think it fills the gaps and is like $10/mo.

should not need it. YTTV has local stations plus many that are digitally broadcast locally

I am looking at Philo and FRNDLY TV also. My wife does not want to get rid of Dish, but I am hoping to get a cheaper package. I will be canceling the Dish locals and using the Tablo for recording shows on the network channels using my OTA antenna. We record everything and watch them later.
How are the picture qualities of Philo and FRNDLY TV?

Philo picture is a really good 720p. I can't comment on FRNDLY. I need to try it sometime.

After doing a lot of research on different streaming services my best option is to stay with Dish. I can go down one package plus cancel the local channels being I have the Tablo. This would reduce my Dish bill by $24 which is about equal to the combination of two services that get all the channels I want. Plus this will make my non-techie Wife very happy. She is already struggling with Tablo.

The tv in the bedroom is a smart tv
Looks like you decided to stay with Dish, but I’ll mention that not every smart TV can run YouTube TV via its own smart system. (An add on Roku or other streaming device will do it, but that adds a remote and another layer of complexity for the tech averse spouse.)
We have an older Samsung smart TV in the bedroom, but it can’t get the YouTube TV app (at least I can’t figure out how to download it). No big deal since a new TV with Roku built in is less than $250, but something worth checking out when assessing whether to switch services. Our newer Samsung in the living room does have the YouTube TV app.

Even though my L/R and B/R tv's are fairly new (3 years) I am using a Roku Ultra for the L/R tv. I bought the Roku to use on an older tv being I could not download a specific app. That tv has been put in the spare bedroom to watch while on the threadmill. It will pull in Amazon and Netflix, but not much else.
