Little brother has one 10” sub hooked up in his jeep

He was given a 2 channel amp with 2 12” subs

Is it a matter of just swapping amps out and then wiring the two subs from the amp to the subs? Or do new wires have to be run from the amp/subs to the battery and radio etc.

Worth trying to DIY or should I bring to an audio store, and anybody know about what they charge?

TIA

very easy to do but need to know what ohm the new subs are and brand/model of the amp to make sure it can handle the ohm load.

very very easy to do once we know those things though. the speakers will have model numbers on the back of the magnet and should say ohm load and if its dual or single voice coil.

The amp given is used and works with the subs, it was wired into a friends car

Just need to put that stuff into his jeep; that’s already wired but only for one 10” sub

oh well that simple. take a picture of how the speakers are wired to the amp in friends car.

unhook battery

after that just remove power from old amp, then remote wire, then RCA, then ground wire. Then remove the amp and speakers.

place new subs and amp in, wire ground, then power, then remote, then RCA, then speakers like they were hooked up previously.

hook battery back up

test everything.

simple as shite.
