Windows 10 refuses to update.

Here are my options:
I've tried "Update and restart" about a 1/2 dozen times. It restarts fine but my 3 options remain the same. Seems like it totally ignores the update and just restarts. Any suggestions?
ETA: well as we all know, all you have to do is threaten the damn thing and it decides to cooperate. About a minute after I posted the OP, it now looks like this:
Never mind....

restore to earlier windows update date-
start over
2. download update from MS and update manually

Microsoft just messin' with you. Update team trying to have a good story to tell at the tech convention.

They can tell the funny story about how they forced my laptop to update overnight while I was sleeping even though they knew I didn't have enough space on my hard drive for the update to finish. It was stuck at 98% for a day. Then when I forced a reboot, it wouldn't boot up properly and the desktop was corrupt. Took me over a week to get it working properly.

Mine got stuck in an update/restart loop a few years ago, I ended up just having to buy another laptop.

this is so first world problems its funny
i know your laptop was probably old and was getting time to replace but just that sentence by itself is hilarious. a simple image or format and reinstall would have fixed in in under an hour.
