Windows 10 - wifi options missing

We got some new pc's at work so I took my old machine home. After starting it up, there's no option for wifi connections. Only ethernet. Going to device manager and clicking network adapter shows no wifi anything. Just an ethernet connection and about 9 types of WAN Miniport connections.
Some googling said to go to view and select 'show hidden devices' which revealed one more thing in the list... Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter. This machine was connected to our office network via wifi so not being able to see the wifi adapter now makes no sense...
Any of you Microsoft gurus know anything?

Go to your PC manufacturers website. Try downloading most up to date wireless adapter driver and install. If that doesn't work try loading a Linux distro from USB and see if wifi is working or not. If neither works you most likely have a bad wireless network adapter.
Also did you only connect it via Ethernet at your work or did you connect to wireless? Many business grade desktops don't have wireless network adapter installed.

Had a similar problem with Lenovo yoga, had to update chipset and bios.

Also check and see if your laptop has a physical switch for Wifi. You don't see it that often anymore but it might be a feature on yours.

Worst comes to worst, you should be able to plug in a USB wifi adapter. Not expensive.

So I had an old netgear wifi extender I plugged in the wall and ran ethernet to it. Everything is gravy now. Not sure why it hasn't found the onboard wifi adapter
