I work in k12 tech and I've been looking for a router that has content filtering and parental controls for my 3 kids.

I've settled on this:

LINK

Gryphon Mesh wifi router with filtering and access control from an app (only $60/year).

Does anyone have any other recommendations or experiences with routers and content filtering for the house?

Maybe some additional research into proxy/filtering. Probably want something that is similar to what you linked, so that it's managed from one point instead of having to install on all devices.

I'm looking at OpenDNS now, free, and 1 of every 3 school districts use it, and very easy to setup.

PiHole with a raspberry Pi (or just a spare PC) is my favorite content filter

This is a great option if you like to tinker. If you want to set and forget, I'd go with Untangle. They have a "for home" version that is free (you just pay for the hardware).

I've set up an untangle box before when it was open source, might be a good idea.

I just learned that Charter/Spectrum blocks any external DNS from being used on their network. I can't get OpenDNS to work even though I plugged it into my router.

Will definitely be on the line with Tech Support when I get home or tomorrow.

Rebooted my router at home from the office after plugging in the DNS and now I locked myself out of my logmein, it looks like I canked it

I set up Pi Hole on a Raspberry Pi this week and it's blocking 66% of the requests.

I'm an average techie and found it easy to setup.

It really is simple and amazing. Meant to be an adblocker, but can be expanded for so much more
