Why does the volumn on my iPhone control the volume on my PC when listening to Spotify?

just freaked me out 5 minutes ago. it's connected somehow, but i can't seem to fix it.

It's because you're logged into Spotify on both devices. Think like handoff for Apple.

Spotify's handoff thing is cool in theory but problematic in practice.

Ah ok. I finally figured out how to fix it. Just kill the app on my phone.
