I'm not paying 1000 for a video card.

Either get extremely lucky, wait it out for another year, or pay $1000. Seems like those are your 3 options from what I can tell

One does not.
We can help you pick the card that's the best bang for your buck given your needs, talk to you about best ways to go about trying to pay MSRP, but that's about as good as it gets at the moment.

I'm guessing when Ethereum goes to Proof of stake and mining ends it might help some.

Costco has a computer with:
11700F
16gb RAM
480ssd + 1TB spinner
RTX2060
$1349
Different machine largely the same except for 1tb ssd, 3060TI will run you $1700
Probably better off yanking the card and selling the rest of the beast than anything you’ll find.
They have a prebuilt with a 3070, too.

So. Here is what I have.
Msi tomahawk 550
Rizen 5600g
32g ram
1tb ssd
I know the 5600G has a gpu in it so I can get by for a while with that but a nice middle of the road gpu would work

What do you (want to) play, at what settings, at what resolution, and at what target frame rate?

I just want to be able to game a little. Maybe COD or escape from tarkov or something else fps. Frame rate, idk. It's been like 20 years since I PC gamed.

What kind of monitor do you own/plan to buy?

At 5120 x 1440, you're pushing about 85% of the pixels of standard 4k, at 60hz. That's... a lot for an iGPU. FPS tend not to be the most graphically intensive games, but I feel like you're going to want at least a 3060, if not better. But I'll defer to others who know those games better than I do, as they aren't really my jam.
