What local companies specialize in setting up home networks?

Run the cables, install plates, switch, etc to my office.

You'll likely need two companies to do this. A low voltage cable installer to do catX runs and then a small IT firm to possibly setup a switch for you. I doubt most small firms would even send out a tech to do that switch job though.

If you're just looking for something basic, you can get switches that are plug and play that you can install

I do all that, but I'm across the river and it's an extra $1k for me to cross it.

Yeah, I’d feel comfortable setting up the equipment if I had to. It’s running the cable and installing the wall jacks I don’t want to fool with.

The whole switch scenario depends on your use case. Is this for a business or a home office?

Home.

Basically security cameras and media screens that I wanted to hard wire.

Sounds like you just need some ubiquiti unifi equipment you can install yourself and then someone else to run the cabling

We do it all for residential and small businesses that don't need enterprise (cisco) level costs in their network.
