What is Amazon up with 3D music and Alexa?

There’s a big difference in music played via Spotify and Amazon 3D fed songs into the device.
I don’t think it’s a new format, right? Or they just holding back the device unless you use Amazon Music? It sounds so good I will put up with the inconvenience of two music apps. Just wondering if this will ever get to Spotify

Spotify doesn't have hi-res music. Everything they play is compressed.
