VPN - streaming MLB

Because none of the streaming services carry the regional sports networks I think I am going to buy the MLB tv package and use a VPN to skirt blackouts.
Right I run all media/streaming services from my playstation 4 into a Yamaha sound bar into my smart TV.
I haven’t used a VPN before but assume having the PlayStation as the source will be problematic.
Is it possible to use a stick with a VPN on it and the MLB tv app? Is that the best way to get it on my screen without having to cast it from another device? What is the best way? Any recommendations on sticks and/or VPNs to do this?

It may be easier to set up the VPN on your router so you don't have to worry about setting it up on individual devices like the PS5. However, be aware this may cause some snafus with various location services so I would probably turn it off when not watching blacked out MLB games.
