Our 65" Vizio D65U-D2 (about 5 years old) has starting having odd display issues. Always use it on the Calibrated picture mode with a brightness of 95.

Yesterday the screen went black. Still had sound, but no image. Tried the cable box HDMI, the blu-ray HDMI, the fire stick HDMI, all black. Turn the tv off and back on, get the Vizio V logo and get a good picture. Less than 5 minutes, back to black.

This morning I did a factory reset, left it on the default image settings (with brightness at 50) and it was still on after about 15 minutes. Went back and set it back up on WiFi, renamed the HDMI inputs, went back to calibrated image mode - display goes black in about 5 minutes.

Did another factory reset, leaving the settings on default, and it has been on for a good 30+ minutes no issues.

tl;dr - Vizio goes black after a few minutes on calibrated/high brightness settings, but seems to work ok on default/midlevel brightness.

your LEDs might have degraded enough they can't output the levels you are wanting. That is a really high brightness level.

What backlighting level are you using?

Misread/mistyped up above. Brightness on both is 50, but backlight on calibrated is 95. Backlight on standard looks like 100 but is greyed out, and picture is much darker than calibrated version.
