I have an old NetMD player that I would like to use because I'm a weirdo.

Well the last operating system that Sony made the Net MD Simple Burner for was Windows Vista. So right now I am lost as to how to load music onto my minidisc player.

Maybe some of you tech guys can help me out.

ETA: so I basically found a YouTube video that shows us guys with windows 10 and a love of our net MIniDisc players (I'm sure it's a small subset of posters ) how to download not only Sonic Stage 4.3 (since Sony disabled the server where it was hosted) but also how to download the drivers for our NetMD players. Just follow this guy's instructions:
How to use your NetMD player with Windows 10

Basically he found another server that has the required Sonic Stage program and the drivers, but it's not a Sony server. I know you guys are saying this sounds sketchy, but I've run multiple scans on my computer and there is no malware attached to the files you need.

Just thought I'd help you other 3 guys out that maybe interested in such a thing lol

Worst case scenario you could play the songs and record via MD.

I'd be interested in this as well. I have one that would be fun to break out for nostalgia purposes.

Edit: I haven't looked through this, but it may have some good info:

My computer won't even recognize the minidisc player

Idk how I can get the MD Walkman to even record music now.

My older MD recorder allowed for a direct connection between a CD player and the MD recorder so direct recording at real time was always a possibility. This new version requires the MD Walkman to be connected to a computer so therefore it needs a driver. This shite sucks arse.

I just checked the manual for my MD Walkman (MZ-NF520D) and there is no other way to burn music to the minidisc except by using the obsolete software.

I read through that page and while it does have some great info it doesn't help with my problem.

That must be the issue. Pretty sure I could direct record with mine.

The software doesn't work on Win 7?

Could try running the old software in compatibility mode if all else fails.
