New to the market to compete with Ring and all the others. I’ve been trying to buy one but they sell out in minutes every week. Anyone here have one?

I'm kind of pissed that this is the first I've heard of it because I'm a huge Ubiquiti fanboy.
Being part of the Protect line I'm assuming it records to your own local NVR, which is great. Downside for me is it looks like it only works with 24VAC doorbell wiring, which my house doesn't have. If there was a battery version I'd be all over it, or even if there was a PoE version I'd be willing to run the cable.

There is a 120V AC option.

so why not run a 24v wire?
Can I do 24VAC over cat6? Or do I need to run wire rated for doorbell use, and then use it as a pull string when I replace with cat6 later?
I would prefer battery powered because running wire to the doors in this house would be a huge pain in the arse. Attic access is tight above 2 of the doors, plus I would have to drill through brick. I'm not even sure that it can be done here honestly, unless I go outside the brick which would look terrible.
So if I go through all that, I would at least like the added benefit of wired data with PoE. That might be enough to tip the scale. Otherwise I can't see myself running wire just for power, plus wiring and mounting a transformer, for what is essentially a beta product at this point.
