TV Repair
Posted by RebelWithACause on 12/22/21 at 12:02 pm00
Is it worth it to repair a large expensive TV that is 2 years old?
I have a 75" Samsung Q70 QLED TV that was bought new in 2019. The TV is having issues with the backlight flickering pretty bad and it is pretty much unwatchable. I spoke with Samsung TV support and they said the backlight will need replaced. I had the extended warranty from BestBuy but it expired 1 month before the TV started having issues. I am debating trying to have it repaired or purchase something else. This TV cost $2599 at the time and makes my sick that it only lasted a little over 2 years. Anyone have any ideas on how much it would cost to replace a backlight on a 75" TV?

Yea I wish it were that easy fix but it didn't help.

Will Best Buy give you a price for repair? There are still a few independent TV repair places out there. Campbell TV Service in Shreveport is still kicking after decades. Maybe there is a similar company near you who can give you a price/estimate without a service call.

Have you gone on youtube to see if it is easy to repair? My parents had a nice tv go out after lightning and it turns out it was a simple $50 part to swap out.
