TV hookup to a projector

I have a TV that I am trying to connect to a projector via an HDMI cable. However I keep getting a no signal on that HDMI port. I have connected a laptop to the projector through that same HDMI cable running from the TV so I know it’s not a bad cable or port on the projector. Anyone else ever connected a TV to a projector for mirroring to the bigger screen.

Pretty sure you will not be able to do that as tvs don't have an output HDMI, only in. The Arc Hdmi is an audio im/out. You would have to buy a hdmi splitter to do what yju are wanting to do if you are trying to mirror.

So do I buy 2? The Arc for audio and the splitter for video?

You could use an hdmi splitter from a non tv source (like fire stick / roku). A tv does not output hdmi signal like a laptop. It is only for input
You mention Arc, are you using a receiver? If so plug the source directly into reciever, then split from hdmi out. Arc (audio return channel) would not be needed as the source is not the TV but an hdmi input on receiver. There are receivers with multiple hdmi out as well

No. Arc would be for a sound bar and is mainly for audio. Plug the splitter in from your source out such as a receiver, appletv, roku, etc into the splitter and you can run hdmi connections from the splitter out to each decice you want. This will give you audio and video on each device. (Shouldnt need audio on all but hdmi carried both). If you do not have a source item such as what i mentioned above and are trying to use the built in snart interface on the tv, this will not work.

Your TV wont passthrough or output video. You need to come from the source. Id you want multiple displays to use one source you can use a splitter or matrix depending on how many sources and displays you want.

What exactly is your goal? What is the source for your tv programming? Cable box? Streaming box/dongle?
