You're thinking CS50's Introduction to Computer Science. It's a high level overview of Computer Science, which is why it touches superficially on many topics.
I suggested CS50s Introduction to Programming with Python. This course focuses on: functions, variables, conditionals, loops, exceptions, libraries, unit tests, file I/O, regular expressions and object-oriented programming using Python.

I think he was commenting on the fact that I was tackling CS50 intro to computer science.
I just started MIT OCW and I must say, the difference in production from Harvard to MIT is mind blowing.
