Weighing in: Textra is a one time charge of $1, that's all. No subscription required. I upgraded without thinking twice when they asked me to.

I switched from the stock messenger app (old one, not 5.0 messenger) because it just wouldn't receive probably 2 or 3 messages per day. Switched to Textra because I figured it couldn't work worse, and it looked nice. I have tried others since switching, but always end up back with Textra. It easily has the best design, has every functionality you could want, but doesn't throw it in your face if you don't want it. Try it with ads for free, if you like it, throw them a buck and enjoy

I also use Textra and really like it. Easy to use and send photos like someone else mentioned and I like the customization aspect of it. Will likely pay the dollar or two it will cost to have it without the ads.

As of late my Textra app keeps telling me the MMS settings stopped working and over half the time it won't send a picture. Anyone can help with this?

Same exact thing is happening to me on VZW. It's a bug on their end.

Finally started getting adds on textra, and switched to Chomp SMS. Has worked for the 20+ messages I've sent today

Eta: When I root, I'll probably Blackmart Textra
