TCL has no quantum dots?

Is this where we are? Nobody can tell the difference visually so you got physicists running chemical trace tests?

You can tell the difference. Quantum dot technology expanded the color gamut quite a bit for HDR.
But having said that, I dont think anyone has proven there is only one way to enhance the color gamut of LED displays. TCL may very well be using a new method that uses different elements.
But in short, yes, if you dont buy an LED with quantum dot or similar technology, you wasted your money if you enjoy HDR content.
EDIT: TCL has produced evidence directly from their film providers they do indeed have quantum dots present in the models in question. Interesting situation.
