Tablo constantly buffering

After my house got hit by lightning I had to replace my modem, tv, tablo, etc.
This weekend was the first time I tried to use it and play the CBS game on the basement tv. Constant buffering, every 5 seconds it seemed like. I have 100 mbps connection, the tablo is hardwired to the modem. The TV I was attempting to play it on was over wireless.
The old modem and Tablo did not have this issue with the same setup? Any ideas?
The new ATT modem does not differentiate between the 2.4 and 5 ghz networks. The guy said it should switch on it's own, I have a feeling this is part of the issue.

its odd that the wired would buffer, are you sure its on the LAN and not just plugged in but running wireless ?

The Tablo box also buffers when it loses the OTA signal from the antenna. Are you sure that your antenna is pointed in the proper direction and receiving a strong signal? You can test that easily by hooking the antenna up directly to a TV.

Thats how I watched the game Saturday and it would lose signal for a few seconds maybe every 20-30 minutes.
The tablo is hardwired to the modem next to the upstairs tv.
I was attempting to watch on the basement tv which is over WiFi.

It's most likely a WiFi issue. Use a WiFi analyzer to check channel congestion and the signal strength at your TV.

got it..wasn't putting together how it worked...Comment still applies, you could create a 5G-SSID and see if its better

Ah, I completely forgot I had done this on my previous modem. I assigned them to the non congested channels. DOH
Also, the last had a separate network for 2.4 and 5ghz. I'll set those up tonight and see how it helps.
Thanks for the help
