Tablet suggestions

I’m looking for a tablet and need suggestions. I’ll be using it for Office products, CAD, and internet. We have Surface Pros at work and a lot of people complain about them overheating. I don’t know if I want an iPad because I’m told they’re not very friendly for customization. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have suggestions for you, but I've never had my Surface Pro 7 overheat. Do they have cases on them?

I don’t know for certain but I would assume they do. I work in Comm Support for thousands of customer’s. That’s just one of the consistent complaints we receive but there is nothing we can do about it while it’s still under warranty outside of basic troubleshooting.

Because yeah, putting a non-thermally conductive case on a passively cooled device with no active cooling is a recipe for disaster

That’s true but with the shite we see I wouldn’t be surprised if they accidentally put it in a microwave.
